The Strat, Las Vegas

The Strat Hotel, Casino and SkyPod, formerly the Stratosphere, is a hotel and casino located in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. In 1994, Bob Stupak considered extending the height of the planned tower 556 m, seeking the title of tallest free-standing structure in the world. The FAA opposed the height, and the city ultimately rejected it, while allowing Stupak to go as high as 350 m. The hotel, casino and tower was featured at the beginning of the 2016 film Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.
