Day 13/ Hurricane – Goosebery Mesa – Las Vegas
Being that Zion is a National Park, we are not permitted to mountain bike on its trails. However, for our happiness, the locals had the idea to create a system of trails on the plateau that looks over the park (approx. 45 mins transfer). The view of the canyon and its surrounding summits are superb. Gooseberry Mesa is veritable cocktail of Moab style slickrock, narrow rolling trails, and a touch of Canyonlands landscape, all with Zion Canyon as a backdrop. The locals have even created a section of terrain that is informally known as the “Skatepark of the Gods”, utilizing natural obstacles and terrain features. This loop, which is arguably the best loop of the voyage (for you to decide) is still relatively unknown (created in 1998) but could become one of the most talked about trails of the future.
At the end of the day we make our way to Las Vegas (approx. 2.5 hours). In order to enjoy the trails around Zion, we will arrive late in the evening.
Las Vegas comes alive at night, so don’t hesitate to hit the Strip for your last soirée in the US!
Distance : approx. 60 km / elevation gain : approx. 800 m
Duration of transfer : approx. 3h15
