Here’s an interesting combination (for me, at least) – a monochrome, infra red, HDR, I had avoided playing with these images which I took in Las Vegas back in February since they seemed very noisy. Knowing that Photomatix has a habit of amplifying noise, I figured it was unlikely that an HDR generated from the IR source images would be particularly good but, now that I have Noiseware to play with, I proved myself wrong.
I love the stark, abstract nature of this image and the super-sharp geometry. Noiseware did an amazing job of cleaning the image up after merging, desaturating and tone mapping in Photomatix then I performed some sharpening, curves adjustment and a bit of toning in Lightroom to achieve the final result.
I would greatly appreciate your vote in the 2010 Photoblog Awards. Thanks!
