Pitchers delivered shutouts and strikeout spectacles, while offenses erupted for multi-run innings and home runs. The day’s results underscored the depth of talent as spring seasons gain momentum.

No-Hitters Propel Baseball Routines

Hogan Hawkins powered Silverado to dominance with nine strikeouts over three no-hit innings in a 21-0 defeat of Cadence.[1]

Clark’s Hudson Fraidenburg tossed a three-inning one-hitter with five strikeouts in a 24-0 thrashing of Valley. Doral Academy’s Chance Schaefer added 11 strikeouts in a five-inning one-hitter during a 14-0 win against Mojave. These pitching clinics highlighted a day of lopsided contests across the diamond.

Softball Slugfests Showcase Freshman Fire

Foothill’s Gianna Butler struck out eight in a three-inning no-hitter that fueled a 14-0 blanking of Mater East.[1]

Legacy’s Amelia McClerkin slugged two home runs, a double, and drove in seven during a 14-3 triumph over Clark. Cimarron-Memorial’s Jasmine Ponce added two homers and four RBIs in a 17-2 rout of Canyon Springs. Offensive fireworks defined many softball tilts.

Volleyball Marathons Test Endurance

Centennial edged Arbor View in a five-set battle, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 27-29, 15-11.[1]

Shadow Ridge outlasted Boulder City in another five-setter, 25-21, 20-25, 26-24, 21-25, 12-15. Green Valley swept Mater East 25-11, 25-18, 25-7, while Palo Verde dismissed Bishop Gorman 3-0. These matches delivered tension and skill on the court.

Players Who Lit Up the Scoresheet

Numerous athletes earned accolades for their contributions. In baseball, Nevan Chandler of Liberty collected three hits including two doubles in a loss to Mater (Fla.). Adrian Ramos of Mater East homered with two RBIs against Desert Pines.

Softball saw Paityn Lewis of Las Vegas go 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs in a 21-8 win over Sunrise Mountain. Maylise Smith of Cadence notched three hits, two doubles, and four RBIs versus Chaparral. Emery Gibson of Faith Lutheran added a double, triple, and three RBIs.

Volleyball stars included Arbor View’s Risden Miller with 24 kills, 10 digs, and two blocks despite the loss. Shadow Ridge’s Max Romzek tallied 14 kills and six blocks. Green Valley’s Alex Abad contributed 15 digs and four aces.
