Scott Singer, Boca Raton’s recent former mayor, received a significant endorsement from U.S. Rep. Carlos Giménez mere days after redirecting his congressional campaign to Florida’s newly configured 25th District. Giménez, who once led Miami-Dade County as mayor, emphasized Singer’s proven track record in delivering tangible outcomes over partisan rhetoric. The backing arrives as Singer positions himself for a competitive race stretching across Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
Emphasis on Local Leadership Experience
Giménez drew direct parallels between his own tenure as Miami-Dade mayor and Singer’s three terms leading Boca Raton. Both men navigated real-world challenges without the buffer of national politics, from budget management to crisis response. This shared foundation, Giménez argued, equips them to serve effectively in Congress.
“As Miami-Dade County’s Mayor before coming to Congress, I know firsthand that the job is not about rhetoric – it’s about results,” Giménez stated. He praised Singer for supporting law enforcement, maintaining fiscal discipline, and addressing constituents’ daily needs. Such experience, he noted, fosters pragmatic decision-making essential for national service.
Alignment on Key National Security Priorities
The endorsement highlighted overlapping stances on pressing issues, particularly foreign policy and regional threats. Giménez pointed to Singer’s firm support for Israel amid global tensions, alongside opposition to regimes in Cuba and Venezuela. Both leaders also expressed concerns over socialism’s influence in the U.S.
“Scott understands the importance of standing firmly with our ally the Jewish State of Israel, confronting the dangers posed by brutal regimes in Cuba and Venezuela, and pushing back against the spread of socialism in our nation,” Giménez added. Singer chairs the America First Policy Institute’s Mayor’s Council and serves on the Combat Antisemitism Movement’s advisory board, roles that reinforce these positions. Giménez urged voters from Aventura to South Beach to rally behind Singer.
Singer’s Campaign Momentum and Background
Singer initially targeted Florida’s 23rd District to challenge Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz but pivoted last week to the 25th, which now encompasses areas from Delray Beach to Miami Beach. A Miami Beach native raised in Fort Lauderdale, he resides in Boca Raton with his family. As a lawyer bound by term limits, he exited the mayor’s office this year after drawing attention for Boca Raton’s low property taxes and crime rates.
His campaign has gained traction early. Through March 31, Singer raised $1.3 million, outpacing Moskowitz in first-quarter fundraising and surpassing other potential primary rivals. Additional endorsements came in March from local figures, including Weston Mayor Peggy Brown, Delray Beach Mayor Tom Carney, and Deerfield Beach Mayor Todd Drosky, among others.

The Republican primary looms on August 18, with the general election set for November 3.
