Las Vegas – High school competitors across the region showcased skill and determination during Tuesday’s slate of baseball, softball and boys volleyball contests. Pitchers dominated several baseball matchups while hitters provided fireworks in others. Volleyball teams fought through intense rallies, and softball saw decisive victories that highlighted offensive firepower.[1]

Standouts included Tech senior Nick Collingbourne, who fanned eight over five innings in a two-hitter shutout. Coronado sophomore Ryder Metz struck out 10, added three hits including a double, and drove in two runs. Desert Pines’ Kevin Ruiz Sanchez collected five RBIs with two doubles while securing the win.[1]

Softball Power Displays Light Up the Diamond

Offenses erupted in limited softball action, where home runs and multi-hit games propelled winners to comfortable margins. Run-rule victories underscored teams’ ability to string together big innings. These results offered glimpses of bats heating up as schedules intensify.

Arbor View crushed Centennial 12-2 in five innings. Virgin Valley handled Boulder City 10-2. Lincoln County dominated Lake Mead twice, 15-0 and 15-2.

Senior Maliah Harrell paced Arbor View with three hits, a homer, and three RBIs. Virgin Valley’s Julia Leavitt matched that hit total, adding a home run and triple with two RBIs.[1]

Volleyball Sweep Masters and Rally Heroes Emerge
