Las Vegas – High school teams across Southern Nevada racked up impressive wins in baseball, softball and boys volleyball on March 10.

Several squads delivered shutouts and high-scoring affairs during Tuesday’s baseball action. Basic blanked Coronado 10-0 in six innings, while Bishop Gorman crushed Sierra Vista 14-4. Other notable results included Arbor View’s 6-2 win over Durango and Liberty’s 6-3 triumph against Green Valley.[1]

Standout players fueled these successes. Ian Denney of Mater East went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs in an 11-1 rout of SLAM! Nevada. Matthew Kelley from Basic also shone, hitting 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Nicholas Maffey of Clark pitched a complete game and batted 3-for-3 in a 5-1 decision over Cheyenne.

Offensive fireworks defined softball on Tuesday, with multiple mercy-rule endings. Arbor View hammered Basic 15-2 in five innings, Bonanza overwhelmed Western 22-3, and Silverado demolished Desert Pines 32-1. Close contests also thrilled fans, such as Doral Academy’s 6-5 edge over Liberty.[1]

Courtside drama unfolded in boys volleyball, where endurance proved decisive. Coronado outlasted Arbor View 3-2 in five sets, while Basic downed Shadow Ridge 3-1. Boulder City swept Moapa Valley 3-0, and Foothill blanked Green Valley 3-0.[1]
