Lyllian drew inspiration from her aspiration to become a civil engineer. She depicted how infrastructure connects people worldwide, aligning with the contest’s theme of “A World Within Reach – Future Icons.” Both teens attend ninth grade and represent their clubhouse in this prestigious competition.[1]

Club officials celebrated the achievement, noting the designs reflect the creativity fostered in their programs. The selections highlight the impact of after-school activities on young artists in the Las Vegas Valley.

Cox Mobile Partners with Boys & Girls Clubs

Cox Mobile, the mobile service from Cox Communications, launched the contest to empower high school members of Boys & Girls Clubs across the U.S. Teens submitted original phone case designs tied to the theme.[2]

A judging panel reviewed entries, including leaders from Cox and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, alumnus Mario Lopez, and 2025-2026 National Youth of the Year Ximena. They chose the top 22, who now compete for substantial prizes.

Colleen Langner, executive vice president and chief residential officer at Cox Communications, stated, “Every teen has the potential to become a future icon – and that journey begins by being seen, heard and supported. This contest is more than a creative outlet; it’s a catalyst for designing futures and unlocking a world of possibility.”[2]
