Bullitt County, Kentucky – Authorities arrested a local man after discovering his wife’s severely beaten body in their garage amid a trail of blood.
A Chilling Police Response
Mount Washington police officers arrived at a home on the 100 block of Williamsburg Court shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday.
They encountered 67-year-old Richard Chesher standing at the open garage door, covered in blood on his clothes, hands, and face.[1][2]
Chesher attempted to close the garage doors upon seeing the officers, but they quickly spotted a body on the floor.
The victim, identified as his wife Bonnie Chesher, had suffered such extensive injuries to her face and head that she was unrecognizable.[1]
Evidence of a Vicious Assault
A blood trail stretched from inside the house to the garage, indicating the attack began indoors.
Investigators recovered a large, club-like wooden plank soaked in blood, which they believe served as the murder weapon.[2]
The body showed signs of being wrapped in a garden hose and dragged across the floor, leaving a smeared path of blood.
Officers also noted boards positioned as a makeshift ramp leading to Chesher’s pickup truck, suggesting an attempt to load the body into the vehicle.[1]
No other individuals were present at the residence, which Chesher and his wife shared exclusively.
