North Las Vegas mayor shares imaginative and prescient for metropolis's progress and renewal

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The town of North Las Vegas held its State of the Metropolis deal with on Thursday. The occasion centered on the town’s accomplishments, upcoming initiatives, the mayor’s imaginative and prescient for the longer term, and her plan for North Las Vegas to be a “complete city.”

“A city that provides every opportunity our residents need to prosper and achieve their dreams without ever needing to leave home,” Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown mentioned. 

Metropolis leaders mentioned their aim is to revitalize the town and sustain with the expansion and demand of residents.

“Revitalization in terms of community investment in some of the older parts of our community, in our parks, in law enforcement, in public safety. We’re making strategic investments in all those areas,” Mayor Professional Tempore and Councilman for Ward 3 Scott Black mentioned. 

In her deal with, Mayor Goynes-Brown mentioned the town is laying out six strategic targets: modern, environment friendly, and steady authorities; infrastructure enhancement; group security; financial progress; group well being and well-being; and group id and engagement. Every aim is meant to additional make investments locally, together with new developments, facilities, and companies. 

“Lots of downtown redevelopment projects of our VA hospital, of our Tule Springs area,” Mayor Goynes-Brown mentioned. “Just revitalizing the whole core of the city. Lots more amenities that our residents need and want.”

“With the residents, services they can see, feel, and participate in. Recreation opportunities, investments in parks,” Councilman Black added. 

The town additionally plans to spend money on inexpensive housing for residents and develop security partnerships throughout the town to guard the standard of life.

“We want people to feel safe in their neighborhoods… so that people are comfortable and they’re proud to call North Las Vegas home,” Mayor Goynes-Brown mentioned.
