Trump orders declassification of FBI’s Russia investigation

By Miles Cooper March 25, 2025

President Trump on Tuesday signed a memorandum directing the declassification of FBI recordsdata associated to the investigation into his 2016 marketing campaign’s potential ties to Russia.

The memorandum requires the declassification of “all files related to Crossfire Hurricane investigation,” White Home workers secretary Will Scharf stated as Trump ready to signal the order on the White Home.

“We believe that it’s long past time for the American people to have a full and complete understanding of what exactly is in those files,” Scharf stated.

“This was total weaponization. It’s a disgrace…but now you’ll be able to see for yourselves,” Trump stated as he signed the memo.

The FBI opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation in July 2016 over whether or not members of Trump’s marketing campaign had been coordinating with Russian officers. The investigation preceded the appointment of particular counsel Robert Mueller.

Trump and his allies have for years forged doubt on the legitimacy of the FBI’s probe into his marketing campaign, arguing it was a politically motivated investigation.

Mueller finally didn’t set up that Trump or members of his marketing campaign coordinated or conspired with Moscow to have an effect on the 2016 presidential election, however he and his group declined to achieve a conclusion on whether or not the president obstructed justice.
