Las Vegas Strip – Construction teams poured concrete for two of the four primary concourse levels at the Athletics’ $2 billion stadium this week, encircling much of the 9-acre site formerly occupied by the Tropicana.[1]

Athletics president Marc Badain highlighted the lower concourse deck, which crews completed from the third-base foul pole and extended into right field. He visited the site last Friday and noted the outfield section had not yet begun. By Wednesday, pours advanced dramatically around the outfield.[1]
The second-level concourse progressed from the third-base side toward first base. About half of the ballpark’s decks stood complete as of Wednesday. Eighty-four percent of the 33,000 seats will sit between the foul poles, optimizing views for most fans.
Steel Era Dawns Soon
Workers prepared for steel installation in the stadium bowl next month. The fifth of six roof-supporting buttresses neared completion by month’s end, with the final one slated for spring. Badain forecasted roof steel visibility by June, when the building frame would gain definition through summer and early fall.[1]
Escalators arrived on site within weeks, paving the way for prompt installation. A prominent gap between lower concourse ends will fill with a vast steel-framed glass wall, offering stadium patrons sweeping vistas of the Strip.
Workforce Powers Through Milestones
Between 400 and 500 laborers reported daily, accumulating 196,000 craft work hours already. The organization filed more than $1 billion in Clark County building permit applications, covering $1.02 billion across 11 submissions. Main packages tallied $970 million, including the $500.6 million core-and-shell permit still pending.[1]
County officials issued permits for foundations, concrete structure, primary steel, and seating above the main concourse. Supplemental approvals covered precast seating and deep underground conduit, among others. Further updates came at the next Las Vegas Stadium Authority meeting.
Leaders Praise Momentum
“You can see that the first deck pour is already around out in the outfield, which is amazing. I was out on the site last Friday, and they hadn’t even started that. It’s amazing how fast they are going,” Badain said.[1]
Las Vegas Stadium Authority chairman Steve Hill monitored progress via a live construction camera feed. “They’re doing a fantastic job. It’s been super fun to watch that go up,” he remarked, while cautioning that intricate finish work lay ahead.[1]
