Henderson – Boyd Gaming Corporation prepares to unveil Cadence Crossing casino later this month, marking a fresh chapter for the Boulder Highway gaming scene.
A Modern Replacement Takes Shape
Construction crews have transformed the site adjacent to the longstanding Jokers Wild casino into a state-of-the-art venue.[1][2] Officials confirmed the late March opening during a recent earnings call, positioning the project as a key investment in Southern Nevada’s growth.[3]
Jokers Wild will continue operations through the transition, with plans to demolish the original property afterward to make room for expansions.[2] This approach ensures minimal disruption for loyal patrons while introducing modern amenities tailored to the neighborhood.
Key Features of the New Venue
The 50,000-square-foot development centers on a 10,000-square-foot casino floor equipped with 450 slot machines.[3] Visitors can expect a mix of classic and cutting-edge games, including popular penny slots and video poker options.
Food and beverage outlets will complement the gaming experience, though specific names remain under wraps until closer to launch.[2] The design emphasizes convenience for locals, fostering a welcoming atmosphere distinct from the Strip’s high-energy resorts.

Tied to Cadence Community’s Surge
The casino’s location near the Cadence Crossing housing development aligns with rapid residential expansion. More than 1,200 homes sold in the community during 2025, ranking it third among master-planned communities nationwide.[3]
Boyd President and CEO Keith Smith stated, “The adjacent community of Cadence has more than 1,200 new homes sold in 2025 alone. This is the third-best sales performance of any masterplanned community in the country. Strong residential growth is continuing throughout the neighborhood. We believe Cadence Crossing Casino will be well positioned to deliver a strong return on our investment.”[3]
This strategic placement targets everyday players from the growing population, reinforcing Boyd’s focus on neighborhood casinos.
Phased Development Promises More
Phase one launches the core casino and dining options, setting the stage for future growth.[1] A subsequent phase includes a four-story hotel with 114 rooms, timed to match community demand.
