Las Vegas – The UNLV Lady Rebels delivered a commanding performance against Boise State on Wednesday night at The Pavilion, winning 76-47 to lock in the No. 2 seed for the Mountain West Conference tournament.[1]

Shelbee Brown’s Breakout Game

Shelbee Brown dominated the paint and boards, posting a season-high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting while grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the year.[1] The forward’s effort included five offensive boards and eight free throws made out of ten attempts. Her tenacity set the tone early, as UNLV controlled the interior throughout the contest.

Coach Lindy La Rocque praised Brown’s impact, calling her tremendous and a difference-maker the staff anticipated.[3] Brown herself reflected on her gritty style, noting, “I was a very rough kid. Not girly at all. I liked to be outside playing basketball with the boys.”[3]

Balanced Attack Lifts UNLV

Meadow Roland added 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including one three-pointer, while collecting four rebounds and three steals. Sydni Summers matched her season high with 14 points, sinking four of nine from beyond the arc to provide crucial spacing. Aaliyah Alexander contributed eight points and a team-high three assists alongside three rebounds.

The Lady Rebels shot 40.3 percent from the field and 82.6 percent from the line, converting 19 of 23 attempts. They forced 14 turnovers from Boise State, turning them into 15 points, and held a 32-22 edge in paint scoring.[1] Defensively, UNLV tallied eight steals and limited the Broncos to 29.3 percent shooting.

  • Shelbee Brown: 22 points, 16 rebounds
  • Meadow Roland: 15 points, 3 steals
  • Sydni Summers: 14 points, 4 three-pointers

Wire-to-Wire Dominance

UNLV jumped ahead with eight straight points for an 11-4 lead, then extended it to 20-8 after the first quarter via a 9-2 run.[4] A 15-4 surge in the second pushed the margin to 35-12 at halftime, where the Lady Rebels led 35-18. They maintained double digits throughout, outscoring Boise State 21-13 in the third and 20-16 in the fourth.

Boise State managed just 47 points total, led by Libby Hutton’s 12 points and five rebounds. The Broncos’ bench outscored UNLV’s 26-24, but the starters faltered against the Rebels’ pressure. UNLV improved to 20-10 overall and 15-5 in conference play with the victory.

Boise State 23-8 / 14-6 5
