Daniel Niebla, who operates a limo service, saw his daily fuel expenses rise from $41-$42 to $71-$72, adding $30 extra per day. Statewide, Nevada’s average reached $5 per gallon, far above the national figure exceeding $4 for the first time in years.[1]

Amazon Prime Offers Weekly Friday Discounts

Amazon Prime members can save 20 cents per gallon every Friday from April 3 through May 29 at thousands of bp, Amoco, ampm, and Thorntons stations nationwide, including in Las Vegas.[3][1] The deal applies to all fuel grades with no minimum or maximum purchase required. Outside Fridays, members still receive 10 cents off year-round.

To access the savings, users link their Prime account to the free earnify app and enter their phone number at the pump. The promotion stacks a baseline 5 cents from earnify, 5 cents for Prime status, and a 10-cent bonus during the limited period. This initiative targets everyday drivers seeking consistent relief amid volatile prices.

Uber Boosts Support for Rideshare Drivers

Uber introduced enhanced gas savings for its U.S. drivers and couriers from March 27 to May 26, partnering with Upside for up to $1 off per gallon and Shell Fuel Rewards for up to 21 cents off, scaled by Uber Pro tier.[4][1] The Uber Pro Card adds cash back on gas at any station, reaching up to 15 percent for top-tier Diamond members.

Drivers combine these for potential savings of $1.44 per gallon at select spots. Blue and Green tiers earn 7 percent cash back, while Platinum hits 9 percent, with extras at Exxon, Mobil, or Mastercard stations. No tier is needed for the base 5 percent boost, helping Las Vegas rideshare operators offset daily costs.

AAA Delivers Member-Exclusive Fuel Perks

AAA members save 10 cents per gallon on up to 20 gallons at Shell stations through April 30, part of a limited Spring promotion that started March 9.[5][1] New Fuel Rewards joiners get 35 cents off their first fill-up at Shell. Love’s offers 13 cents per gallon via its app for every purchase.
