Las Vegas valley trainer spotlights ladies in historical past for March

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As February turns to March, a Las Vegas valley trainer is highlighting historic figures for Ladies’s Historical past Month.

Thomas Korzon, a trainer at Marvin M. Sedway Center Faculty in North Las Vegas, mentioned the idea comes from his expertise as a visible learner.

His class has centered on ladies’s suffrage and the appropriate to vote. He mentioned the bodily nature of drawing is a welcome departure from the more and more “online” nature of contemporary residing.

“Some of the students are really talented,” Korzon mentioned.

These college students say the category has confirmed to be inspirational in studying about these struggles, each historic and trendy.

“It makes me want to come to class every day,” mentioned Rainna, one in every of Korzon’s college students.

“Being able to create artwork in class gives me a better understanding of what is really going on,” mentioned Itzel, one other pupil. “Being able to visualize the history allows me to better understand it.”

Though not an artwork trainer, Korzon mentioned the creative aspect of his teachings has helped his college students and proved helpful to their general success.

“I think with any type of language barriers, reading or anything like that, having these visuals is extremely important,” Korzon mentioned.
