The National Transportation Safety Board has released airport surveillance footage that captures the left engine separating from a UPS cargo aircraft. The video was presented during hearings examining a deadly crash involving the plane. Investigators continue to review the sequence of events shown in the recording as part of their ongoing probe.

Footage Captures Critical Separation

The surveillance video offers a direct view of the engine detaching from the aircraft. It shows the component falling away shortly before the crash occurred. Board members described the footage as a key piece of evidence in reconstructing the timeline. The recording comes from cameras positioned at the airport where the incident unfolded.

Investigation Focuses on Engine Failure

NTSB officials are analyzing what caused the engine to separate from the UPS cargo plane. The hearings have brought together experts to discuss maintenance records and operational factors. Preliminary findings point to the need for closer examination of similar aircraft components. The agency has not yet issued a final report on the cause.

Hearings Highlight Safety Concerns

The public sessions have drawn attention to broader questions about cargo plane operations. Participants have reviewed data from the flight and ground observations. The released video adds visual detail to testimony already presented. Further updates from the board are expected in the coming weeks.

The NTSB continues its methodical review of all available evidence from the incident.
