Las Vegas police amend ICE notification coverage in response to Laken Riley Act

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police have amended their Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) notification coverage to incorporate extra crimes after the passage of the Laken Riley Act.

Earlier than Congress handed and President Donald Trump signed the brand new legislation this week, Metro’s coverage was to alert ICE if an inmate was in custody for violent felonies, DUI, and home violence-related crimes, LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated.
