Las Vegas man caught pace racing on digital camera earlier than lethal crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The person going through a cost of reckless driving after police mentioned he hit a person along with his automotive, inflicting the person’s loss of life, was caught pace racing on digital camera moments earlier than the crash, paperwork mentioned.

On Feb. 19 at round 10:45 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division responded to the realm of North Nellis Boulevard and Kell Lane after a person referred to as 911 and mentioned he hit a person along with his automobile.

The caller, recognized as Duglas Esteban-Chacon, 25, advised 911 that he was driving a white Honda and the person was useless, in response to an arrest report.

Arriving medical personnel confirmed the person sustained mortal accidents from the collision and a physician from a close-by hospital pronounced him useless. Police didn’t title the sufferer within the report.

Esteban-Chacon advised arriving officers he was driving residence from a health club close to the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Sahara Avenue when the person “just appeared in front of his vehicle.” He mentioned he was driving 45 mph and no different autos have been round him.

Surveillance video from the realm confirmed Esteban-Chacon’s automobile racing an unknown white automobile at “high speeds,” the report said. When police advised Esteban-Chacon there was a video of him “engaged in a possible street race,” he remained silent and didn’t refute the claims.

A data test confirmed the registration on Esteban-Chacon’s automobile was suspended.

Esteban-Chacon faces expenses of reckless driving leading to loss of life or bodily hurt and displaying bogus automobile registration/plate/title. He was held on the Clark County Detention Middle on a $100,000 bail and his subsequent court docket look was scheduled for Feb. 25.
