Henderson trainer takes plea deal in youngster abuse case tied to viral video

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Henderson trainer, allegedly seen in a viral video grabbing a 3-year-old youngster, reached a plea settlement with Clark County prosecutors. 

Heather Heifner, 24, agreed to an Alford plea on Wednesday in Clark County District Courtroom to a gross misdemeanor cost of kid abuse, neglect, or endangerment, based on courtroom data. The utmost she faces is three years of probation.

Heifner’s felony case was tied to an incident that occurred on April 19, 2024, at DJ’s Christian Daycare/Preschool positioned on Arroyo Grande Boulevard between Paseo Verde and Horizon Ridge parkways in Henderson.

Investigators from Nevada’s Youngster Care Licensing, a program meant to watch licensed childcare services and their compliance with state legal guidelines and rules, carried out an on-site survey, discovering that Heifner did not implement “positive discipline” and “mishandled the child,” based on their report.

Officers from DJ’S Christian Preschool/Daycare beforehand stated Heifner’s employment was instantly terminated following the incident. She had labored on the college for 4 years with out prior grievance, police paperwork stated.
