Lane reductions close to Harry Reid Worldwide Airport to start Monday

By Miles Cooper February 9, 2025

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Drivers throughout the valley are planning their subsequent transfer as building close to Harry Reid Worldwide Airport will quickly start.

“I’m going to avoid the airport as much as possible because the construction is a waste of time,” rideshare driver, Virginia Sanchez informed 8 Information Now.

Sanchez mentioned that she feels that the highway work will finally damage her enterprise.

“We are going to lose money, gas, mileage and be stuck in traffic. They have to consider that there is a convention this week and it’s Valentine’s Day,” Sanchez added.

The highway work will start Monday evening as a part of an intersection mission aiming to enhance the visitors circulate out and in of the airport. Southbound and northbound lanes on Paradise Highway might be diminished to at least one lane at Russell Highway.

Drivers like, Linda Alexander say it is a visitors jam ready to occur.

“If it’s going to one lane, just imagine a hundred drivers pulling out of here to go get a ride. I strictly pick up and drop off at the airport so with that construction coming, I’ve got to figure out if it’s worth doing it this week,” Alexander mentioned.

As well as, drivers won’t be able to make a left flip going southbound or westbound on Paradise onto Russell. Whereas it is a non permanent inconvenience, there are those that acknowledge that the work must occur sooner fairly than later.

“It’s 100% going to make a big difference in the long run and needs to be done. There’s a lot of growth in this city,” David Haboush added.

Airport officers advise anybody not heading to the airport to keep away from the world altogether for these 4 days. Building ends Feb. 14.
