Las Vegas proclaims 'remaining decision' in Badlands dispute, ending years of litigation

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas officers launched an announcement Wednesday asserting a remaining decision within the dispute over the closed Badlands golf course, placing an finish to litigation than had been hanging over the town for years.

The association between the town and developer Yohan Lowie, proprietor of EHB, was initially revealed on Dec. 18 when it handed a Metropolis Council vote, 7-0. Officers gave metropolis attorneys the authority to proceed with negotiations on the $636 million buy of the golf course property. EHB was one among 4 builders who sued the town for going again on agreements to develop the property.

Berkley and Metropolis Councilwoman Victoria Seaman each made Badlands a marketing campaign problem, declaring it was time to finish the dispute with builders due to ongoing authorized prices, in addition to the potential for reaching a settlement that will value the town much less.

Seaman started working towards a settlement when she gained a council seat in 2019, however she was unable to persuade others on the council to vote together with her. Badlands is in Seaman’s district, Las Vegas Metropolis Council Ward 2.
