Henderson, Nevada – Liberty High School’s baseball team delivered a dominant 7-1 win against visiting Las Vegas High on Tuesday afternoon in a Class 5A matchup.[1][2]
Patriots Pitching Sets the Tone Early
Senior Cayden Rogers-Ramirez anchored Liberty’s effort on the mound. He limited Las Vegas High to four hits across four innings pitched.[2] That strong start stifled the Wildcats’ offense and paved the way for Liberty’s comfortable margin.
The Patriots’ defense complemented the pitching. Las Vegas High managed just a.160 batting average and.222 on-base percentage for the game.[3] Liberty capitalized on the momentum, building a lead that the visitors could not overcome.
Rodriguez Delivers Clutch Hits
Austin Rodriguez emerged as Liberty’s offensive standout. He finished 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs, a triple, and a run scored.[1] His extra-base hit provided a key boost during the Patriots’ scoring rallies.
Liberty’s team-wide hitting proved effective overall. The Patriots posted a.292 batting average and.400 on-base percentage, showcasing their early-season form.[4] No home runs appeared in the box, but consistent contact fueled the seven-run output.

Las Vegas High entered Tuesday off a mixed bag of results. The Wildcats notched an 8-0 shutout win over Elko High on February 26. They tied Spring Valley 3-3 the next day before falling 8-6 to Foothill.[3] Those games highlighted their potential but also vulnerabilities against balanced opponents.
