Nevada wildlife officers examine unlawful taking pictures of doe pregnant with twin fawns

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A mule deer pregnant with twin fawns was shot and left to die within the Ruby Mountains, and now officers with the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) are asking for the general public’s assist with any info which may assist discover who’s accountable.

A sport warden who responded to a March 5 report of a deer discovered close to the Lattin Ranch south of Elko discovered what gave the impression to be bullet entry and exit wounds within the doe’s left rear hip/again.

The doe — initially reported as sick or injured — died earlier than the warden arrived. NDOW described the incident as a mindless killing.

“The 6–7-year-old doe was pregnant with twin fawns which also died due to the gunshot wound killing the adult doe,” in line with a information launch. “NDOW believes that this deer may have been shot sometime between March 1 and March 3, 2025.”

The Elko County website is called Harrison Go in Hunt Unit 103. The world is about six hours (350 miles) north of Las Vegas.
