Las Vegas — A three-inning no-hitter fueled one of the day’s biggest blowouts as Nevada high school baseball, softball and boys volleyball teams delivered decisive results on Thursday, April 23.[1]
Offensive outbursts dominated the diamond, where 15 baseball games featured multiple run-rule mercies, while softball saw three shutouts and volleyball courts hosted a sweep-heavy slate. Standout players etched their names into the box scores with home runs, aces and blocks that underscored the competitive edge in the state’s prep leagues. Run-rule victories punctuated Thursday’s baseball action, with several teams posting double-digit margins. Tech led the charge in a 22-0 rout of Chaparral, capped by a no-hitter. Other lopsided wins included Arbor View’s 15-0 blanking of Las Vegas and Rancho’s 17-6 thumping of Eldorado.[1]
Closer contests kept fans engaged too. Basic edged Foothill 4-3, Centennial topped Legacy 6-4, and Palo Verde slipped past Sierra Vista 4-2. Bishop Gorman held off a late rally from Faith Lutheran for a 7-5 victory at home.[1]

Tech senior Briggs Barlow dominated Chaparral with a three-inning no-hitter, striking out six batters. He added a triple and three RBIs at the plate to power the Roadrunners’ 22-0 win.[1]
Silverado’s Preston Clark excelled in a 16-1 mercy over SLAM! Nevada, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. The Meadows’ Hudson Falb unleashed extra-base power against Virgin Valley, collecting a home run, triple, double and three RBIs in a 14-4 victory. Faith Lutheran’s Rookie Shepard shone despite a 7-5 loss to Bishop Gorman, hitting 3-for-4 with a homer, double and two RBIs. Mater East’s Colin Tocker contributed a double, triple and two RBIs in a five-inning 14-4 decision over Canyon Springs.[1]
Softball Mercy Rules Prevail in Limited Slate
Pahrump Valley and Boulder City imposed their will with shutouts on Thursday. Pahrump Valley blanked Moapa Valley 15-0, while Boulder City routed Democracy Prep 18-0. Virgin Valley rounded out the action with a 16-2 win over The Meadows.[1]

Volleyball Powers Roll in Straight-Set Dominance
Sweeps defined boys volleyball, where seven of eight matches ended in three sets. Centennial dispatched Foothill 25-14, 25-21, 25-22. Moapa Valley crushed American Heritage 25-10, 25-6, 25-19. Sierra Vista overcame an early set deficit to beat Green Valley 17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-16.[1]
Other victors included Boulder City over Cristo Rey, Del Sol over Legacy, Liberty over Cadence, Shadow Ridge over Palo Verde, and The Meadows over Pahrump Valley in four sets.[1]

Volleyball Aces and Blocks Propel Victories
Centennial senior Lincoln Larson tallied nine kills and four service aces in the win over Foothill. Sierra Vista junior Jake Nezhoda anchored the net with 10 kills and six blocks against Green Valley. Moapa Valley’s Caden Rawson notched seven kills and six aces versus American Heritage.[1]
Foothill senior Reece Velasco managed 13 assists and six digs despite the setback. These efforts showcased defensive prowess and serving precision that tilted matches decisively.[1]
