Las Vegas police officer accused of leaving Okay-9 in sizzling automotive for hours, resulting in canine's dying

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Clark County Faculty District officer faces fees after police stated he left his Okay-9 in a sizzling automotive for greater than six hours and disabling a security mechanism, resulting in the animal’s dying.

James Harris, 54, faces two misdemeanor fees associated to leaving an animal unattended in a car and failing to supply correct air, meals, shelter, or water to an impounded animal, data stated.

CCSDPD Okay-9 Marley, who was 5, died on Nov. 14, 2024, after Harris allegedly left him unattended in a car for greater than six hours whereas he labored at a highschool, paperwork stated.

Harris informed investigators he “shut the air off for the passenger compartment” however left “the air on in the rear for K-9 Marley,” paperwork stated.
