LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — UNLV revealed it plans to fee a memorial on campus for the victims of the Dec. 6, 2023 capturing, and it desires the group’s enter on the design.
In line with a publish on UNLV’s web site, the college is commissioning a memorial and therapeutic backyard, which shall be situated adjoining to the Baepler Xeric Backyard, throughout from Hospitality Corridor.
The memorial and backyard will serve “as a place for the campus community to honor, heal, and reflect,” the web site stated.
On Dec. 6, 2023, Anthony Polito, 67, shot and killed Lee Enterprise Faculty professors Dr. Jerry Cha-Jan Chang and Dr. Patricia Navarro Velez; and School of Liberal Arts professor Dr. Naoko Takemaru. A fourth professor shot within the incident survived.

Because the college develops the design for the memorial, it’s asking for enter from the group about what they wish to see and the way the memorial can honor these killed.
