LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A 14-year-old lady survived life-threatening injures after she was hit by a pickup truck whereas crossing the road.
It occurred on Wednesday close to Sahara Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard. The teenager was recognized as Chelsea Madrigal by family and friends.
The crash was caught on dashcam video, and left the teenager’s household and associates and people who witnessed the crash outraged.
“‘I did like this, and he saw me and didn’t stop. It was a black truck.’ That’s all she told me,” Elizabeth Mireles, Chelsea’s mom, stated as she held her hand up.
Mireles stated her daughter attends Valley Excessive Faculty for its magnet program and takes the general public bus to and from college.
Chelsea Madrigal is enrolled in Valley’s ROTC program, however her mom stated she worries now about her desires of becoming a member of the U.S. Military.
“She gets emotional because right now, she says she won’t be able to move her hand. That maybe they won’t want her anymore, that maybe it will harm her ability to hold the guns,” Mireles stated.
The video 8 Information Now obtained appeared captured the moments the pickup truck ran over Madrigal as she was tried to cross from the north finish of Sahara Avenue to the south finish.
Mireles has seen the video and stated it is exhausting to observe, particularly because the driver appeared to not cease till a number of witnesses chased after the truck.
She thanked those that stepped in to look after her daughter and known as 911.
“[A woman] held her for me until the ambulance arrived. She sang a song so that she wouldn’t fall asleep. Maybe it was her angel because she was encouraging her so that she would still be there, be present,” Mireles stated.
Witnesses on the scene reportedly advised Mireles the motive force wasn’t arrested as a result of he stopped and didn’t present indicators of impairment.
Chelsea Madrigal suffered accidents to her left arm, cranium, and spinal wire. She has but to obtain a date on when she’s going to depart the hospital, in accordance with her mom.
