Las Vegas — The roar of the T-Mobile Arena crowd turned to stunned silence on Wednesday night as the Anaheim Ducks claimed a 3-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, tying their second-round NHL playoff series at one game each. Beckett Sennecke, Leo Carlsson, and Jansen Harkins delivered the decisive goals for Anaheim, while goaltender Lukas Dostal stood tall in net, falling just 5.6 seconds short of his first career playoff shutout. This home-ice setback leaves Golden Knights fans grappling with a shifted momentum as the series now heads to California.

Ducks Build Momentum with Timely Strikes

Anaheim wasted little time asserting control in the contest. Sennecke opened the scoring early, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to light the lamp and set the tone for his team’s resilient effort. Carlsson followed suit later, extending the lead with a precise finish that highlighted the Ducks’ offensive cohesion.

Harkins sealed the outcome in the third period, providing the insurance goal that kept Vegas at bay. These tallies showcased Anaheim’s ability to strike effectively against a formidable opponent on hostile ice. The Ducks’ forwards maintained pressure throughout, forcing turnovers and creating high-danger chances.

Dostal Delivers Standout Goaltending

Lukas Dostal anchored the Ducks’ success between the pipes. The young netminder turned aside shot after shot, demonstrating poise under playoff pressure. Vegas managed only a late response, slipping one past him with scant time remaining and denying what would have been a historic shutout.

At 5.6 seconds from perfection, Dostal’s performance marked a coming-of-age moment in his postseason career. His quick reflexes and positioning frustrated the Golden Knights’ attack, particularly during extended shifts in the Anaheim zone. Such efforts often prove pivotal in tight series like this one.

Golden Knights Struggle to Find Rhythm

Vegas entered the night riding high after claiming Game 1 but faltered against Anaheim’s determined play. The home team generated opportunities yet struggled to convert, managing just a single goal in response to the Ducks’ three. Defensive breakdowns allowed Anaheim’s scorers to find space at critical junctures.

The crowd at T-Mobile Arena, known for its electric energy during playoffs, watched as the Knights pushed late without reward. This result underscores the fine margins in postseason hockey, where home advantage can evaporate quickly. Anaheim’s discipline and execution proved the difference on this occasion.

• Beckett Sennecke: Opened scoring with an early goal.
• Leo Carlsson: Extended lead with a sharp finish.
• Jansen Harkins: Added insurance in the third.
• Lukas Dostal: 5.6 seconds from shutout, stellar saves.

Path Forward Shifts to Anaheim

With the series locked at 1-1, the Ducks return to their home rink for Game 3, carrying newfound confidence. Vegas faces the challenge of rebounding on the road, where Anaheim’s familiar surroundings could amplify their edge. Playoff history shows that splitting the first two games often leads to extended battles.

Fans in Las Vegas will scrutinize adjustments from the coaching staff as the Knights aim to regain control. The outcome of the next matchup could define the series trajectory, testing both teams’ depth and resolve. For now, Anaheim savors the momentum, while Vegas prepares to respond.
