Los Angeles – The Christopher Street West Association revealed key details for the 56th Annual LA Pride Parade, setting the stage for a vibrant celebration of resilience and community strength. The event, scheduled for June 14 in Hollywood, centers on the theme “Rise with Pride,” which organizers described as both a tribute to past triumphs and a forward-looking call to action.[1][2] Grand marshals and a diverse entertainment roster promise to draw crowds to the streets and screens alike.
Embracing Resilience Through the New Theme
The theme “Rise with Pride” captures the enduring spirit of the LGBTQ+ community amid evolving challenges. Christopher Street West Board President Lawrence Carroll emphasized its deeper meaning. “‘Rise with Pride’ is more than a theme, it’s a responsibility,” he stated. “This year especially, it’s important that we listen to our community and respond intentionally.”[2]
Organizers highlighted a commitment to accessibility, sustainability and innovation. The focus extends beyond festivities to year-round advocacy and service. This approach marks LA Pride’s growth from its origins as the world’s first permitted LGBTQ+ parade in 1970 into a multifaceted institution.[3]
Grand Marshals Reflect Community Strength
Three honorees will lead the parade, each embodying the theme through personal journeys of courage and service. Celebrity Grand Marshal Jeff Hiller, an Emmy winner for his role in HBO’s Somebody Somewhere, brings visibility from his recent projects including guest spots on Apple TV+’s Pluribus and NBC’s Stumble. His memoir Actress of a Certain Age and stage work further showcase his comedic talents.[4]
Community Grand Marshal Mia Yamamoto stands out as a transgender criminal defense attorney and civil rights activist. A U.S. Army veteran born in a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II, she earned numerous accolades, including the Harvey Milk Legacy Award from LA Pride in 2012. Legacy Grand Marshal Shirley Raines, who passed away in January 2026, founded Beauty 2 the Streetz to provide meals, hygiene and dignity to unhoused individuals on Skid Row. Recognized as CNN Hero of the Year in 2021, her work restored confidence to thousands.[1]
Diverse Talent Takes the Pride Village Stage
Pride Village, stretching along Hollywood Boulevard from Vine to Gower streets, will host performances starting after the parade concludes around 1:45 p.m. CSW Board Vice President Kareem Cervantes noted the lineup’s significance. “This year’s lineup is a true reflection of our community: bold, diverse, and full of rising talent,” he said. The free event runs from noon to 8 p.m., featuring over 100 vendors, food trucks and community resources.[1]

- Candiace Dillard Bassett, adding star power.
Special programming includes a King of Drag cast showcase, Preciosa Night for queer Latinx culture and the LA Pride Ball by House of Ninja. iHeartRadio DJs will keep the energy high throughout the day.[3]
Parade Logistics and Broadcast Reach
The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue, proceeding north to Hollywood Boulevard, east to Cahuenga Boulevard and south to end at Sunset and Cahuenga. ABC7/KABC-TV will air live coverage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., hosted by Gio Benitez alongside anchors John Gregory, Rachel Brown and Tony Cabrera. Reporters will provide on-the-ground updates.[3]
